Zonder Jihad Straat
Of course, some locals are up in arms whining and complaining of "intolerance". But anyone with half a brain cell can see that this message is not remotely anti-Muslim, it is anti-jihad, which anyone in their right mind should be. Political correctness and multiculturalism are all about making assumptions, and these people assumed this man was equating jihad with Islam per se, which he was not.

Racism is dead. Right? Isn't that why no one talks about it anymore in "polite" conversation? That's why any commentary on race is met with replies of "those damn minorities are never satisfied." Racism is dead. That is why you may have already dismissed this column as something you have heard before. It is the reason why Affirmative Action was struck down in Michigan, right? Because racism is dead in America-at least that's what they keep trying to tell me.
It goes on in this fashion. What would we do without such morally sound individuals, eh? What's racism, again?
2. AFRICA - Billiton has slammed as "untrue and irresponsible" the National Union of Mineworkers' (NUM) claims of racism at its manganese mine in the Northern Cape.
The NUM has charged that black workers had to walk 2km to the nearest bus stop, while employees of other races were collected at their homes.
BHP Billiton, meanwhile, claimed that instead of picking up employees at their homes, the company had recently instituted a centralised pick-up point.
Case closed.

Headscarf Hysterics
...yep, you guessed it...
...RACISM!
Not that it is a symbol of Islamic misogyny or that it hinders communication and identification, or that it goes against Western values which immigrating Muslims should be assimilating to - things that the report itself admits that those questioned used as their reasoning. Nope, it's racism and we've all gotta be re-educated in diversity and tolerance, or they will probably bomb us again.
I fear for the future of Europe.

Nightwish - Eva
Having now heard the full song I have to say I'm pleased with it. It's pretty much your typical rock ballad and there is not much that is unique or exceptional about it, but it's a nice song and I like it. If it's on the album I'm sure it will be a nice come-down from some of the heavy symphonic craziness surrounding it.
I can't wait for the new album, and Anette has a pleasant, good voice and I'm sure she will be successful with the band. Rock on!
I'm off now till Tuesday when daily racial blogging will hopefully resume. Have a safe bank holiday.

The Little Islamic Mermaid
A portent of the fate that awaits Europe if it keeps its head in the clouds about Islam.

2. This is a much more intelligent piece, by a Harvard student, who examines the way PC culture has stifled genuine debate.
3. A new report examines the difference in quality of life for blacks and whites. And the article asks the question: what causes these inequalities?
I'll tell them: BLACK PEOPLE DO. They are so wrapped up in their racism fantasies that they encase themselves in a shell and do not come out into the real world and live their lives. Rather that take the initiative to get educated and get a job, they prefer to just do as little as possible and then say it's the fault of racism. That's how these poor black ghettos stay poor and black. It's their own choice; perhaps we should be enlightening them as to why it's the wrong one, rather than vindicating their fantasies.

The Cup Final...
I am a Manchester United fan and so I am gutted by the result. But this match only served to affirm several things I have been thinking all season, regarding the difference between United and Chelsea.
It is simple. Chelsea have not enjoyed success over the last couple of years because they are a great team - they are not. Well organised, yes. But as a group of players they are a bunch of moderate- to low-talented bruisers who go out to stifle games and cheat with the intention of nicking a goal somewhere near the end. This is what they do every week, and this is what they did today. John Terry is allowed to get away with absolute MURDER every game and referees turn a blind eye. Chelsea is a team full of players such as Jon Obi Mikel and Michael Essien whose only talent is to scythe into people and either come away with the ball or go down in a writhing heap. They have a striker in Didier Drogba with undoubted goal-scoring prowess, but they score most of their goals from set pieces. This isn't even sour grapes talking. When Arsenal were the dominant team in the League a few years back, I had to concede that they played the best football in the country and deserved their position. Similarly, when Liverpool were the main power in the 80s; they did it by playing good football. Chelsea have no such glowing attributes.
They are also ridiculously jammy. It is a trait Jose Mourinho has brought with him. Some people just have an unfair share of good luck, and he is one of them. They get the breaks; they got all of the referee's decisions on their side today, with a dangerous Joe Cole tackle in the first half going unpunished while the slightest contact by a United player resulted in a free kick to Chelsea. We also should have had a penalty when Giggs was brought down by Essien, but it of course was not given.
Obviously, United themselves should also carry much of the blame for this defeat. In the last eight to ten games of this season they have been lacklustre, with key players not turning up and switching from free-flowing, attacking football to overly cautious "tactics" and general lethargy. They only held on to the Premiership because Chelsea were poor, as well. Today Wayne Rooney muffed three chances by himself (meanwhile, Chelsea only had two decent efforts on goal in the whole game, one of which resulted in a goal). So it's all about taking chances, but United had more of them than Chelsea did, because Chelsea are such dullards.
In truth, neither team deserved to win. And in that situation it's always going to be Chelsea's day, because of their undefeatable combination of luck, luck and MORE LUCK.

Steven Erikson - Reaper's Gale
I'm a big reader of fantasy and science fiction novels, and my favourite fantasy series is The Malazan Book of the Fallen by Steven Erikson. This epic 10-volume series (seven of which are in publication, to date) has been hailed by many as the greatest fantasy series since Tolkien, maybe even better that Tolkien. I would have to agree, although I always thought the LOTR books were over-rated and amateurish at times, anyway.
So it was with great excitement that I read the seventh and latest installment which was released this month, Reaper's Gale. But I have to say I was a little disappointed. Don't get me wrong; it's a good book and still better than a lot of other fantasy out there today, but it's the weakest in the series for some time, and I think Erikson can do a lot better. The build-up from previous books and the way this one was heading suggested a massive convergence, a jaw-dropping climax. However, this never really materialises. It's all a tad rushed and anti-climactic. The ending is good, but not brilliant as it should have been. Erikson also has a tedious and pretentious writing style which involves a lot of unnecessary and confusing sentence fragments, as well as plenty of tedious philosophising from entirely pointless side characters. The other problem is in the scope of the world Erikson has created. The Malazan universe is more complex and deep than Tolkien's Middle-earth. His rich world-building should be commended, but it can become so overwhelming that it can be downright confusing. As a result, when he dabbles in mystery-making, it doesn't quite work. There are a few big questions asked in this book, but I was left unsure as to whether these questions were being deliberately asked and had valid answers or if Erikson was merely getting confused and mired down to the point where he was having trouble keeping track of his own world. The level of complexity can be overwhelming and frustrating at times, as this book clearly demonstrates, and it leaves you wondering whether you're the one confused or if in fact it's Erikson's fault.
Even so, I did enjoy it as an addition to the Malazan series; it resolved some plot-lines, left others open and introduced yet new ones. And there is some good action in there. But I think it could and should have been a lot better, and at the end of the day I can't help feeling that if you're going to write a book that's 900 pages long in a large trade paperback size, it should be 100% worth the money and paper, and this book, I'm afraid, wasn't.

I don't usually like black metal. It has a tendency to be just "noise" and have screaming vocals which I don't often like. However, one black metal band I do like are Norwegian band Dimmu Borgir. They still have many black metal characteristics such as screamed vocals, but there is also a lot of genuinely good music among their discography as they take a more melodic approach than many other bands in the genre. The song posted below, "The Serpentine Offering" is a good example of this as is demonstrated in the long orchestral opening and in the clean vocals performed by the band's bassist, who actually has an amazing voice.
Anyway, enjoy and if I don't post again this weekend, I definitely will begin again in earnest next week.

Islamophobia "Worst Form of Terrorism"
Speaking at a special brainstorming session on the sidelines of the 34th Islamic Conference of Foreign Ministers (ICFM), the foreign ministers termed Islamophobia the worst form of terrorism and called for practical steps to counter it.
Yep, that's right: drawing attention to the elements of Islam that give rise to jihad violence - or "criticism", as it has been dubbed - is apparently worse than flying planes into buildings or blowing yourself up on the London Underground. Read the whole article; it is staggering in its atrociousness.
The real truth, of course, is that Europe and America are extremely TOLERANT of Muslims and in general aren't the types to treat them unfairly because of their religion. Throughout the Western world we do our best to peddle the myth that Islam is a Religion of Peace (TM) for this very reason. It seems to me that the ones guilty of exactly the kind of behaviour the OIC are describing are the Islamic jihadists themselves, who commit their acts of evil violence indiscrimiately against ANYONE WHO IS NOT A MUSLIM.

1. This is the most interesting racial study I've seen in a while, which shows in particular how whites are less concerned about racism than other races. Of course, that's because all other races are always "victims", innit?
2. A restaurant has been accused of putting racist comments on its menus which were derogatory towards the Chinese. None of the offensive comments are printed in the article.
3. A black man claims that someone is trying to block his house-move into a new neighbourhood because he is black, which the "someone" involved strenuously denies.
I've no idea of the level of racism but this story reminds me of one I heard many years ago. A man selling his house found accusations of racism flung his way after he placed an advert for his house in the paper which read "No Asians, please". Much questioning ensued, until finally investigators got to the bottom of the problem: the man had dictated his ad by phone and what he had actually said was......"No AGENTS, please".

2. I saw this very short piece by Dinesh D'Souza, who is a known apologist for Islamic terrorism and is repeatedly used to wipe the floor by Robert Spencer in debates, but I thought this was funny:
The owner of an upscale restaurant in Louisville, Kentucky, kicked O.J. Simpson out, saying he's sick of the attention that Simpson has been getting. Simpson's lawyer says the expulsion is racially motivated. In a way, he's right. If O.J. was white none of this would have happened. That's because if O.J. was white he would be in prison serving a life sentence for murder.
3. This piece in Socialist Worker thinks everyone is racist - including the NuLabour Government, who are too right-wing for them. Of course, being a socialist publication, it can't help but make comments about the "naked racism" of the Tories as well as labelling immigration controls "racist". Does no one have any imagination anymore?

2. The New York State Division of Human Rights has determined that there is probable cause to believe the Ithaca City School District engaged in unlawful discrimination against a DeWitt Middle School student during the 2005-06 school year. The case centers on whether the district took appropriate and prompt action to protect a DeWitt seventh-grader, who is black, from alleged racial harassment by a group of white students between October 2005 and February 2006.
Yep, you heard right. The fact that they failed to stop it means they are filthy racists. Don't you just love assumptions?

1. Here we learn that a recent report suggested that white referees in the NBA apparently give more fouls against black players than they should (and guess what: this proves that "racism is alive and well in the NBA". I can't hear that phrase enough). Maybe black players are just dirtier (in a fair-play sense, not hygienically). Oops, can I say something that provocative? All races are equal, after all.
2. A video shows Calgary police arresting a black man on drug offenses and treating him rather heavily. This has led to allegations of racism. Again, for no reason I can discern other than that the "victim" was black. For what it's worth, I have no sympathy for him - he's a criminal, he doesn't deserve any.
3. The Director of a school band has been suspended for allegedly making racist comments. As yet there is no indication of what these comments were.
4. The video below shows a debate on Fox News with radio talk show host Chuck Booms on one side and the hapless Hannity & Colmes on the other. It's about a video filmed at a college in which we can see two black boys fighting a white boy. There isn't a clear picture of who started the fight or to what extent it was racially motivated, but the point Booms makes is that if this was reversed, and two white boys were seen fighting with a black boy, the press would automatically assume it was racism by the white boys. However, because they are black no such assumptions are made. The hosts try to deny this and then make wild accusations about his claims. The person or group that posted this video on YouTube also tries to claim Booms said that black-on-white racism is the "biggest problem in the country today". He did not. He said that this willingness by the media to assume that the attacks are racially motivated in one situation and lack of willingness in the other situation is the biggest problem. And he's absolutely right.

Summation And Soccer
Muslim and Christian leaders in Oslo scrapped a football match meant to foster understanding between religions on Saturday after the imams refused to play a team that included women priests.
The imams said physical contact with women would be inappropriate, NRK public television said, and the Norwegian Christians refused a proposal of a male-only clash. The match was to have followed talks meant to build bridges between faiths in Norway."Some say that bodily contact is the problem. It leads to special feelings that can lead to something forbidden," imam Senaid Kobilica told NRK public television in explanation.

Afterwards we went to McDonalds, and since only the Drive-Thru was open we decided to do what others seem wont to do: eat it in the car. Whenever we go to McDonalds, while we go inside and sit down at a table and chairs, we always see dozens of others who prefer to go and sit in their car to eat. Having finally experienced the "thrill" of it last night, I would say - don't do it! It's messy and fiendishly inconvenient. I don't understand what the attraction is.

A neat video to start out with is "It's in the Koran", which ACCURATELY sums up the reasons why jihadists do what they do, even if the under-fire writer of the song then tried to go back on it and claim that he really believes Islam is a Religion of Peace. Enjoy.

Horrible Ham Hate Crime: Update!
Round-up
This is one of the most blatant examples I have ever seen of someone using the "racist" label for absolutely no reason other than that is is easy when no other defense for their actions is available. There was nothing REMOTELY racist about this incident. And this guy agrees with me.
2. Here's a letter to the Indianapolis Star in which a reader rightly takes issue with a previous article there in which the writer attempted to blame the O.J. Simpson trial and Hurricane Katrina on racism. The letter rightly puts the journalist in his place.
And one thing I would add: he mentions New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin - this is the man who, soon after the disaster, said he had a desire to remake New Orleans as a "chocolate city", and this comment went largely ignored by the mainstream media, despite its obviously racist connotations. Now why might that be?
3. And finally, an article about Nelson in New Zealand; it is largely another opinion piece on the state of racism in the area/country, etc, but at one point it cites the most recent example:
Now it has happened again. In a brief but shameful attack that, courtesy of security camera footage has been repeatedly seen by television viewers and Internet users, two Nelson men attacked three Korean teenagers who were sitting outside a dairy near their school, Nelson College, in mid-March. That no major physical damage occurred could be due to the fact that the frightened victims ran, rather than fought back. The assault was over in seconds but, because of the blanket coverage it has been given around New Zealand, it has left another lasting stain on Nelson's good name as a safe, friendly city.
Excuse me, but I missed the racism. That's not to say this attack WASN'T racist; it well could have been; in fact it seems likely. But there is also the possibility that it was a random attack and that the victims this time happened to be Korean. The article suggests that the attackers don't have a previous history of this kind of thing, and CERTAINLY it doesn't say anywhere that they have a history of racism. Either way, the attack was violent and thuggish and they should be convicted, but why is it that if the victims happen to be foreign or black we assume it is racist?
Another bit caught my eye:
However, though what the pair did was despicable, this was not a case for the most severe sentences to be applied. They pleaded guilty and did not have an extensive background of this type of offending. It can be assumed that, had the element of racial violence not been present, an assault of this nature would have brought a lesser penalty.
As we see here, for some reason the authorities now deem racist violence (or perceived racist violence, in this case) as somehow worse and worthy of a harsher sentence than "normal" violence. IT IS NOT. Both should be punished equally harshly.

Stop Sharia
And something like this did indeed happen recently. On or around April 7, 2007, Du'a Khalil Aswad, a 17 year old Kurdish girl was murdered by public stoning after running away from home for a so-called honour crime. Du'a was a member of Iraq’s Yezidi religious minority from the village of Bahzan in northern Iraq. She was killed by a group of men and in the presence of a large noisy crowd in the town of Bashika, near the city of Mosul. Some of her relatives may have participated in her stoning.
Amnesty International reported that Du’a Khalil Aswad’s murder is said to have been committed by relatives and other Yezidi men because she had engaged in a relationship with a Sunni Muslim boy and had been absent from her home for one night. Some reports suggested that she had converted to Islam, but others deny this. Initially, she was reportedly given shelter in the house of a Yezidi tribal leader in Bashika, but her killers stormed the house, took her outside and stoned her to death. Her death by stoning lasted for some 30 minutes.
This stoning, incidently, led to the massacre of 23 Yezedis by Muslims who believed Du'a was murdered for converting to Islam. This is what it is like in countries where Islamic Sharia law is implemented. Now they are beginning to implement it in this country. Past surveys have shown that up to 40% of British Muslims want to see such laws brought to Britain (Q10 at the link provided). We must make sure this barbaric ideology is NEVER allowed to take a grip here or anywhere else in the West.
More Opinion
Racism is an ignorant, archaic, hateful and shallow way of viewing life and humanity. I wish everyone felt the way I do about the matter.
and goes on to challenge claims by some students that there is racism going on at the University, asking for that ever-elusive thing called proof, the concept of and need for which seems to have been abandoned since "Racism!" became the battle cry of those poor, oppressed minorities. It's a good article; read it all.
