I was walking up the High Street today and as I walked past a couple of cash dispensers I heard a beeping sound coming from one of them. This got my attention as ATMs only make those noises when a transaction is being made, but there was no one in sight. I did a double take and saw that there was a credit card sticking out of the machine. Someone was obviously in a rush and had taken their money without taking the card. I immediately handed the card in to bank.
It got me wondering how many people out of a random sample would have handed the credit card in, and how many would have made off with it. At least I can pride myself on being a good, moral, honest citizen.
