Terrorism Awareness has a petition against genocide up against their website, particularly focusing on modern Islamic sympathisers and practitioners of it. I advise everyone to sign it. It takes less than a minute.
I'm really glad to hear this. It is nice to actually come into contact with some TRUE moderate Muslims, for a change. Your cause is highly worthy and one that I fully support.
I was skimming through the version of the Qur'an you have posted on your website - that is, the version with all the passages of violence and intolerance removed from it. This is something that I have been calling on Muslims to do for ages now. But I have one slight criticism, if you care to hear it.
You have removed many venomous passages from the Qur'an...but you have left in 2:194, which says "whoever then acts aggressively against you, inflict injury on him according to the injury he has inflicted on you". This is a foundation of much of the revenge culture that afflicts the Islamic world. Self-defense is one thing, but I don't think "an eye for an eye; a tooth for a tooth" is the direction moderate Islam should go in.
Also, may I ask you a couple of questions? How many members are there of Muslims Against Sharia? Who started it all up and what prompted its advent?
And maybe most importantly: What else are you doing, if anything, to bring about Islamic reformation, other than running this website? Are you involved in setting up any reformation programmes, working with reformers, etc? Or is your aim purely education-based?
The more I look at your site, the more I am convinced that you are not actually Muslims at all, but rather non-Muslim Westerners passing yourselves off as reformist Muslims. Obviously, based on your website you believe pretty much exactly in the same things I do, and therefore you're my friend, regardless of who you are. However, the suspicions mount based on the fact that you simply don't sound like Muslims...you sound like Westerners pretending to be Muslims. I have never heard any other moderate Muslims talk the way you do; and to be honest you're too good to be true. You call yourselves an Islamic Reformation Movement, but you aren't actually doing any reforming of any kind. Why not? If we want to support your group; we are given no names, only an anonymous address in Omaha; who knows where or to whom that money is going?
Of course, you might really be Muslims, and all of this might be highly offensive to you. And I, after all, have little more than a hunch to go on. But although you clearly share the same ideology regarding radical Islam as I do, I have to say that I am gradually taking your site with an ever larger grain of salt.

Absolutely. We welcome all constructive criticism.

Thanks

The "an eye for an eye" concept dates back to the Old Testament. We see nothing wrong with righteous revenge, hence we issue statements like this:
Muslims Against Sharia congratulate the organization responsible for elimination of terrorist Imad Mugniyeh on a job well done!
http://muslimsagainstsharia.blogspot.com/2008/02/targeted-killing-of-imad-mugniyeh.html
"How many members are there of Muslims Against Sharia?"
Not nearly enough.
"Who started it all up and what prompted its advent?"
Muslims who are pissed off at being "represented" by radicals like CAIR and ISNA.
Our goal is education: see www.reformislam.org.
Right; here's the way I see it:

If you don't think we are real Muslims, that's fine. How about supporting American Islamic Forum for Democracy (whose views are very similar to ours).
